I just finished this book, The Cabana written by Joanne Crymble. This is a book about friendship and supporting each other during the ups and downs of life. I loved it!
This story follows Piper, Melissa, Jess, and Delilah. All neighborhood moms who are completely different from each other. Comparing each others lives to their own not realizing that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
Melissa is a bright lawyer who is a mom of a 5 year old who is desperate to make friends and be a part of a social group.
Jess has the perfect body and is married to the neighborhood hottie, however she struggles with her body image and suffers from bulimia.
Piper is blonde and perky and has a husband who is gorgeous and is the perfect handyman. However, Piper is hiding that her husband is a raging alcoholic who is fighting his own demons. He also built the Cabana.
And then there is Delilah who is an aspiring writer but is unhappy in her marriage.
Knowing each of these women could use friendship and support, Piper starts a weekly Cabana night with wine, charcuterie, and visiting. As these friendships grow, these four women realize they can share all their darkest secrets and confide in each other knowing they are still supported and loved.
I loved this book so much. I found all the female characters completely relatable and found a piece of myself in each of these women. Everything always looks perfect on the outside, but we never know what is happening behind closed doors.
I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.
